Mc-ES was awarded the contract for the Electrical installation at Vehicle Maintenance Service Station – Darwen and Blackburn Council

Darwen and Blackburn Council

VMSS Depot, Davy Field Road, Blackburn.

Mc-ES was successfully awarded the contract for the Electrical installation within the new Vehicle Maintenance Service Station (VMSS) in March 2014.

The building is a mixture of offices, storage areas and vehicle service equipment including pit bays, rolling roads and vehicle lifts. As always with new build property there are many other trades involved, this puts pressure on timescales and access to certain areas at certain times, but with the existing VMSS Building having to be vacated by a specified date we understood the importance of meeting all deadlines.

We installed basket containment to the office areas with dividers for power, fire alarm and data services, the workshop areas are a mixture of Galvanized tray, box trunking and tubing. Due to the quantity of wall mounted devices in the workshop our electricians had to demonstrate their expertise in tube bending.

The Depot has now been operational for a few months and officially handed over to the council. We have had excellent feedback from all parties involved and the project was a great success.
